No , The tax rate should be a flat tax rate so that everyone pays the same percentage as everyone else which still means that richer people still pay more but it's the same percentage as someone on the more poor side.

 @8DPWTGP from Wisconsin  answered…5yrs5Y

People should be taxed at the same rate. If you earn more, you should pay a little more, but it should be at the same percentage as someone who makes less.

No taxes are theft and there are other ways to finance the federal government. Perhaps no one has heard these ideas because of the exclusive Presidential Debate Commission.

 @8FCD6ZL from North Carolina  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, they should raise the tax that big companies pay, such as Google and Apple. Then the government should use that money for, not their own use, but on providing stuff like food for the poor.

As answered before, which I am going to copy and paste, because I've already typed this all, I am also going to add some things, which will be in between two 'apostrophes', and things I cut out will be in quotation marks within another set of "quotation marks", and parts I replace with other words will be in between two /slashes/, because I am even going as far as to quote my own work, because it has an original source, so, "Yes, because the richer you are, the higher 'the' tax costs you can pay for, and so if richer people were to pay MORE taxes, then…  Read more

 @7NMLC8N from Maryland  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, and instruct the federal judges to actively remove all known loopholes regarding tax payments for wealthy individuals and corporations as they appear after the case has been decided. This both improves our judiciary system while preventing the wealthy from evading their dues.

 @89JKD8N from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

Make public held corporation emoployee owned entitites and increase minimum wage for people over 18 to 20.00 an hour.

 @7NMLC8N from Maryland  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, and make it so they can only apply to have their taxes lowered if their overall net worth falters. Even then, as they make up a greater percentage of the country’s wealth than the regular citizen, they are responsible for paying back a greater percentage of the country’s wealth than the regular citizen. This wealth is to fund programs designed to help the poor have the ability to rise to the middle class.

 @jennamarieanswered…5yrs5Y

Yes, increase for the rich, eliminate loopholes/offshore accounts/deductions and lower taxes for the middle class/working poor

 @8GX4GD8 from Massachusetts  answered…5yrs5Y

No, but allow the taxes to be fair rather than equal in terms of the income amounts

 @owenfuckem from Pennsylvania  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, especially corporate, wealth/inheritance, (large) property, capital gains and other taxes that disproportionately affect the rich and have been systematically deflated over the decades.

 @8HQ92VL from North Carolina  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, create a system where the everyone is taxed a rate proportional to their income and state of living.

 @7YFGPVT from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

1) Eliminate citizen income tax, and restructure corporate earnings tax to a lower linear incrementing tax.(i.e. Set a bottom threshold of $10M annual gross profit at 2%, $50M at 3%, $100 at 4%... and cap at $100B at %15). With no loopholes, and assessed to any company that does business in the US, regardless of where the corporate HQ are and where products/services are generated, to avoid "Off shore" parent company strategy.

2) Simplify, but increase property tax for all entitles, civilian, local business, and corporations. This tax would also scale linearly.

3) Eliminate local and state sales tax and institute a national Value Added Tax dispersed between local, state, and federal proportionally

 @8HVQ4L5 from Vermont  answered…5yrs5Y

Raising them isn't the problem the problem is many rich people circumvent the law to pay less.

 @8J2VLZLanswered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but not excessively. The rich should not have a tax rate less than highest tax rate applied to the rest of the population. Also eliminate tax loopholes for corporations.

 @85QWNPG from Colorado  answered…5yrs5Y

Reform to a flat tax, replace the numerous taxes we have with a cleaner system of income and a yearly company charged VAT on all sales, or similar, rather than state independent tax systems which can be confusing and convoluted.

 @8JBSYBR from Georgia  answered…5yrs5Y

Taxation is Theft. Abolish Income Tax! The fed should be funded as it was pre Income tax. Each citizen should only be required to pay taxes for services received within the state they reside.

yes but also no they may be rich but that just wouldn't be fair and yes I do agree with they should because they get money for mostly doing nothing but again that wouldn't be fair and they would put up a fight.

 @6HG4XSS from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

Regardless of what you make 10% is 10%. Everyone should have the same tax rate. If I make 20K a year I would pay 2,000.00 in taxes... If I made 2 million a year, I would pay 200,000.00 in taxes. The rich would automatically pay more because they make more. Its shouldn't be that complicated.

 @7WS27NT from New Jersey  answered…5yrs5Y

No, Raise taxes on items of opulence. Different tax rates based on how much you make don't make sense, either charge a flat dollar amount per person, or increase sales tax on items progressively as they go up in "luxury" status. (ie. A basic phone/car/etc should not be taxed much, if at all, but a high end one should have a high end tax)

 @8KLLCKT from Oklahoma  answered…5yrs5Y

maybe slightly increase the riches taxes and tax more big corporations but don't raise taxes for middle class and lower class people, again, i dont really know a lot about this

 @8LG9WPJ from Maryland  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, Tax rates should be reduced across the board, fewer brackets should be allowed (especially those families making under $100,000 a year), corporate taxes should be competitive with the developed world and deductions (loopholes) should be reduced.

 @8LM77CM from New York  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, they should slightly raise it more so that they can give those taxes from the rich to whoever they need financial help with. Possible even help modern technology or society.

 @8LWFHFXanswered…5yrs5Y

Abolish the income tax (a disincentive to productivity), and raise property tax to full rental value (guaranteeing land as a public good and incentivizing productive use of the land).

 @8LZGM3Lanswered…5yrs5Y

Absolutely not because they have worked for that money over their years and acquired it. Just because they’re rich does not mean they should have to pay more taxes than everyone else.

 @8LZKM6Tanswered…5yrs5Y

Its not that the rich aren't somehow not paying their taxes. They take advantage of the write-offs that have been allowed and that anyone would take advantage of if afforded the opportunity. Overall the write-offs for the rich and the rest will take care of itself.

 @8LYLWBG from Colorado  answered…5yrs5Y
